Students’ Contribution Towards Nation’s Security

The students of Veerayatan Institute of Engineering have shown remarkable performance in the field of Robotics. Five students from Mechanical Engineering conceived an idea to develop a Robot for the Indian Army. This multipurpose Robot ‘Robotic Rover’ will be able to diffuse and destroy bombs, bring back injured soldiers from the battle field and if required can counterattack too.

The SSIP (Student Start UP and Innovation) Department of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has sanctioned a grant of Rs.50,000 to the students for research and development of this Project.

Awareness Programme

The climatic changes in India are showing predominating effect on water crisis. It is a perennial challenge and conscious steps are required to be taken in this regard. Kutch being a desert area already faces scarcity of water due to very little rainfall and needs water management on a large scale. Veerayatan-Kutch is committed towards contributing in this mission through water conservation, rain water harvesting, renovation of traditional and other water bodies and reuse of water.

Along with applying effective measures by the Institute itself, an intercollegiate event was organized by the students of Veerayatan Institute of Engineering to spread awareness among the students about scarcity of water and techniques of water conservation. Participation of students of Pharmacy and BBA/BCA was also overwhelming as around 100 entries were registered for Drawing, Painting and Poster Making Competition. The students were also shown motivational eye opening videos on consequences of water wastage, drip irrigation, rain water harvesting and waste water management.

Pujya Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji appreciated the students for understanding one of the most important needs of the hour and organizing this awareness programme. The students took an oath in her benign presence to preserve this invaluable gift of nature in best possible ways.
