Spreading the Message of Tirthankar Mahavir

With the blessings of Acharyashriji, Sadhvi Sampragyaji has been working tirelessly to visit all the nearby villages to Rajgir to talk to the local communities of the importance of a vegetarian diet, staying away from alcohol and stopping the abuse of women and children. At the same time as clearly and fearlessly communicating these important messages of Tirthankar Mahavir to these communities, Sadhvi Sampragyaji has also been speaking to those she encounters so as to better understand their needs and establish how Veerayatan, which has been established and undertaking humanitarian work for nearly half a century in Bihar, can further support those in these communities to live a well-intentioned and constructive life which will be for the benefit of all.

Children beautifully recited the stories of when Gautam Swami first met Mahavir Bhagwan, his encounter with Anand Shravak and the feeding of the hermits on Mount Astapad through his special powers and explained the powerful messages underpinning each story. Pre-Paryushan Talk

Pre-Paryushan Talk

On 18 August Sandipbhai Shah, a teacher at SCVP Jain School, in conjunction with Oshwal North West and Dr Mukulbhai Shah, delivered a talk on the meaning of Paryushan and Pratikraman. Many people have voiced the view that they do not understand the practice of Pratikraman. This talk was to help educate those who wish to understand this profound process and as a precursor to actively taking part in the Pratikraman in English which is delivered by SCVP Jain School teachers to allow more people to undertake this annual activity of thoughtful introspection.

Acharyashriji attends JAINA Conference 2019

Acharyashriji, accompanied by Sadhvi Shilapiji and Sadhvi Sanghamitraji, attended the JAINA conference in Los Angeles, California in July 2019.

The theme of the conference was “Jain Religion in the 21st century’, highlighting Seva (Humanitarian Service), Satsang (Study of Jain Principles), Samarpan (Faith and Surrender), Sadhna (Spiritual Development) and Self-Realization. The message for all from Acharyashriji was to have friendship with the whole world and inculcate compassion in action (Seva). Sadhvi Shri Sanghamitraji talked about there being two types of people, givers and takers. It is fine to receive but also it is important to give unconditionally. She went on and stated that in giving, we receive a lot more - high self esteem, contentment, positive attitude, sense of accomplishment…..

Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji explained the true meaning of Seva and how it is a manifestation of the divinity within: ‘Our inner happiness and bliss become manifested as compassion, unconditional love and empathy, which we then share with others through selfless contribution for the betterment of humanity. This is Seva.’
