Celebration of 121st Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Upadhyaya Shri Amar Muniji Maharaj

Celebration of 121st Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Upadhyaya Shri Amar Muniji Maharaj

The 121st birthday anniversary of Gurudev Upadhyaya Shri Amar Muniji Maharaj, the inspiration behind Veerayatan, was celebrated with great pomp in Tajpur village in Narnaul on Sharad Purnima day. With the blessings of Pujya Tai Ma and in the presence of Sadhvi Shri Sadhanaji and Sadhvi Shri Sanghamitraji, devotees from every corner of the country participated with immense devotion. The program was conducted by Nemichandji Jain Saraf and the chief guest was Shri Ashok Ji Surana, Agra. Sadhvi Shri Sanghamitraji said that in the presence of people of all castes and religions in this celebration, the following poetic lines of revered Gurudev came to memory which gives a glimpse of unity.

Eka Jãti Ho Eka Rashtra Ho
Eka Dharma Ho Dhartī Para,
Mãnavatã Kī ‘Amara’ Jyoti Saba
Ora Jage Jana Jana Ghara Ghara.......

‘One hopes and prays that there is only one race, one nation and one religion on this earth and the eternal light of humanity is lit in each and every household and in each and every individual!’

People from every caste, creed and sect were devotees of Gurudev. Anyone who met Gurudev became his devotee. Respected Gurudev was not only a writer, poet, and a disciplined ascetic, but he was also a visionary and spiritual saint of the twentieth century.

To mark this pious occasion, under the joint sponsorship of 'Neki Ki Deewar', 'Nidi Health Group' and 'SS Jain Sabha, Narnaul', a free medical health check-up camp was organised and about 80 people got their health checked in the camp. Distinguished senior officials, scholars and devotees all expressed their deep respect for the revered Gurudev and appreciated the work of Veerayatan. Around one thousand people took the Prasad at the end.

Purity of mind is the ultimate journey

An article by Gurudev Upadhyaya Shri Amar Muniji Maharaj

This article reveals the life of two personalities at the time of Bhagwan Mahavir. One was Mamman Sheth and the other Shalibhadra. Both Mamman Seth and Shalibhadra were poor in their previous lives and both had the good intention to give charity to a sage. For one the fruit of this auspicious act was liberation. But the other remained a beggar because he had given half-heartedly.

Veerayatan Kenya

A Day retreat with Pujya Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji

With the blessings of Pujya Tai Ma, Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji and Sadhvi Sumedhaji visited Nairobi. We had a full day retreat on Kathoupanishad, a text explained lucidly by Sadhviji. Sadhviji introduced the story line then shared her deep insights on the slokas of the second chapter. She related each shloka to our present state of existence emphasising the need to light the divinity present within each of us, to express gratitude and the importance of purifying, strengthening and transforming the mind to make the internal journey. Sadhviji stressed that without calming the mind, soul consciousness cannot be accessed. It was a full day of blissful spirituality interspersed with the breaking the fast for those doing ayambil combined with a scrumptious lunch and tea.

Graduation ceremony

Nine students from Shri Chandana Vidyapeeth Jain School (SCVP) graduated on completing their 10-year Jain study program. These students were over the moon to have received their graduation certificates from none other than Pujya Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji, with the blessings of Pujya Tai Ma. Three students spoke so eloquently on the impact of Jain teaching and how they would apply these teachings and become Jain ambassadors. Pujya Sadhviji addressed the audience emphasising the importance of community and the urgent need to organise conferences for the youth where they can voice their opinions on how they want to carry forth Jain dharma.

Gnan Pancham collection drive

With the rising cost of living, the less fortunate are barely able to make ends meet and thus the students of Shri Chandana Vidyapeeth Jain school decided to purchase stationery for these disadvantaged children to celebrate the wonderful festival of Gyan Pancham. Understanding Pujya Tai Ma's passion for education and her motto of where there is a temple there should be a school, our students have helped assist more than 6000 children across Nairobi City and its environs with their stationery requirements for the coming academic year. What wonderful seva and a unique way of supporting children’s education! Many congratulations to all involved!

SCVP London Celebrating Diwali!

With the grace and blessings of Pujya Tai Ma and Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji, everyone at Shri Chandana Vidyapeeth Jain School (SCVP) had a wonderful and uplifting Diwali. The day starting with the Chopda Poojan where families were transcended to the time of Bhagwan Mahavir by the children of SCVP who performed an amazing skit. The narration of the scene, the hidden voice of Mahavir Bhagwan, the lamenting of Gautam swami before self-realisation and the heart-touching Mahavir Bhagwan stavans had the audience spellbound! As part of the Chopda Poojan, everyone was encouraged to reflect on the positives from the past year and open a bright chapter for the forthcoming new year.

The day ended and a new day began with a peaceful Jaap with rhythmic chanting interspersed with an inspiring midnight sermon by Pujya Sadhviji.

It was indeed a wonderful and uplifting Diwali! Our sincere gratitude to Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji whose grace and blessings continues to inspire us and guide us on this spiritual journey. To read further….

SCVP London celebrates Gyan Pancham

The wonderful festival of Gyan Pancham was celebrated by over 100 adults and children at the school, as well as, virtually for all those students who live far from the school or were not able to travel to the school for the celebrations. The in-person event was compered and led very confidently by the students of SCVP. Everyone was reminded of the reasons why as Jains we celebrate Gyan Pancham and for some people, it was a completely new experience. We were reminded of the importance of knowledge in our life. The participants travelled through a journey of appreciation, respect and gratitude for the Acharyas and the monks and nuns who were determined and took great risks to ensure that the teachings of our Tirthankaras are kept alive. This was done through storytelling and singing stavans full of devotion. Everyone had an opportunity to do the gyan pooja with sandalwood powder and showing respect to the scriptures.

Tibetan Sound Healing Classes

SCVP hosted a term of Tibetan Sound Healing sessions every Friday evening. Tibetan Singing Bowl meditation can help to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, boost the immune system, and increase overall wellbeing. It is also believed to help balance the chakras with the seven energy centres in the body. The classes were run by two different practitioners and a lot of positive energy was flowing during the sessions as healing was promoted with the sound and chakra meditation, and by reciting the Hawaiian forgiveness prayers (ho'oponopono). There were many spiritual healing techniques practised to improve physical well-being. Everyone who attended really benefitted from the classes and learnt more about the SCVP North London School and the work done by Veerayatan.
