Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Celebrations

Veerayatan UK was honoured and grateful to be represented by SCVP Committee Chair Nilesh Kothari and committee members Bharti Shah, Shefalika Mehta and Raj Shah at the House of Commons for the celebrations of the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Mahavir hosted by the Institute of Jainology (IOJ) team. It was a wonderful setting for celebration, recognition and reflection with a distinguished gathering that included leaders of the Jain community, esteemed scholars, parliamentarians, interfaith representatives, business leaders, journalists and supporters.

All the key dignitaries recognised the significant contribution of the Jain community in Britain and praised IOJ’s continued work in raising the profile and recognition of the Jain Faith and that Bhagwan Mahavir’s teachings were a great timeless model for peace and non-violence in the modern multi-ethnic and multi-faith world. The evening had esteemed scholars give insightful talks on Jain scriptural preservation, inspirational speakers talking about their charity work that has made a tremendous difference to the needy and recognition of individuals and teams through the One JAIN community awards.
