Fund Raising Bake Sale and making a difference…

The ethos of seva and the desire to work as a team was exemplified when a sweet initiative blossomed at Shri Chandana Vidyapeeth (SCVP) Jain School, Kenya with two of the classes uniting to host a highly successful bake sale. The delicious treats, lovingly prepared by the students, who were eagerly supported by both parents and teachers, were all for a worthy cause with the funds raised to be directly donated to their chosen local charities in Nairobi.

Some of the funds have already been utilised in two fun activities. Two of the teachers, Sushmaben and Bhaviniben, took 40 children from Ruiru Rehabilitation Centre to the Jungle Gym and Bowling at Sarit Centre. The children had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed themselves playing games, with the activities concluding with a delicious meal of pizza and cake. The second activity involved SCVP children attending Dagoretti Children’s Home, which is supported by Dada Educational Centre, to serve them lunch and give cakes to the 90 children who are resident there.

These popular bake sales are a regular feature at the school and a testament to the community spirit, with 100% of the collections consistently going towards various impactful charitable endeavours for the benefit of the local population in need.
