A Divine Dream Carved in Stone: Pratishtha of Shri Shankeshwar Parshva
The air in Palitana reverberates with a rare spiritual frequency - one of ancient penance and infinite peace. Within the sacred embrace of the Veerayatan Palitana complex, a new spiritual landmark has emerged: Sri Shankeshwar Parshva Jinalaya. To behold the idol of Parshvanath Bhagwan is to witness a soul reaching for the sun; his presence on the throne radiates a serenity so profound that it feels as though the divine has personally descended upon this holy land. This temple is not just a structure of stone, but a manifestation of greatness - the glorious grace of the Tirthankar that guides us from darkness to light.
The story of this temple is nothing short of a miracle. Pujya Tai Ma envisioned a serene sanctuary within the Veerayatan Palitana campus. In a beautiful stroke of destiny, Arvindbhai and Arunaben Shah from Raleigh, USA, simultaneously expressed their heartfelt desire to build a temple in this divine land. What followed was a feat of pure devotion: an intricately carved and breathtaking temple completed in less than nine months. Witnessing such a remarkable pace, many felt that a divine power was steering the hands of the craftsmen, turning a dream into a heavenly reality in record time.
From 6-9 February 2026, the consecration and inauguration ceremony brought devotees from across the globe. Over 70 devotees from America joined hundreds from across India for four days of soulful celebration. The atmosphere resonated with devotion, highlighted by a magnificent Shatrunjaya Bhavyatra and a soul stirring cultural programme by Veerayatan school children, beautifully expressing the core pillars of Veerayatan: Seva, Shiksha, and Sadhana. We owe a debt of gratitude to the architectural mastery of Rajeshbhai Sompura, the Pratishtha Poojan execution by Rameshbhai Dhami, and the tireless and loving supervision by Sadhvi Sanghamitraji, who nurtured this project from its initial design to consecration.
Our hearts are full of gratitude for Arvindbhai and Arunaben Shah, whose vision from North Carolina bridged continents to bring this temple to life. To their family, to the entire Veerayatan International fraternity and to all India members and every individual who took benefit - thank you! This temple now stands in Palitana as a sanctuary of peace - an enduring reminder of Bhagwan Parshvanath’s compassion and the power of collective faith.
