Thirteenth year conducting Pratikraman in English

With the grace and blessings of Pujya Tai Ma and Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji Shri Chandana Vidyapeeth (SCVP) UK had a very successful Paryushan conducting English Pratikraman on all 8 days! This is the 13th year we have been conducting English Pratikraman with SCVP London working once again in collaboration with Oshwal Association of the UK.

All the teachers did tremendously well in not only preparing the content for this year's Pratikraman over the last few months but delivering it over the 8 days with so much patience, clarity, and bhav. Children, aged 7-18 years, attending SCVP Jain School were truly the stars with their amazing recitation of the sutras which had the audience mesmerised and truly inspired! The enthusiasm of the children is a testament to the huge effort they have put in learning the beautiful Jain prayers and to the dedication of the SCVP teachers who have spent lots of time working with the children and helping them learn these sutras.

The teachers explained the essence of this important festival in the Jain calendar - introspection, reflection, and reconciliation with friends and family. This journey of the self is indeed one of choice and putting effort in focusing on internal happiness and eliminating weaknesses like anger, greed, ego and deceit will help us all continue on the right path. The underlying message for this year was the need to focus on controlling our anger and to forgive and let go the grudges we are carrying!

Each day this beautiful journey of self-introspection and contemplation was conducted in a peaceful, serene atmosphere full of positive vibrations. We celebrated and acknowledged all those who had done some type of fasting and finished on the final day by seeking forgiveness from one and all!

Lots of positive feedback has been received from both the virtual and in person audience demonstrating how engaged everyone has been this year!

With many sutras spoken in English and translations throughout - it’s so nice to be able to understand everything in the moment and put things in context!
Congratulations to the children who did an excellent job – very inspiring; Khub Anumodhna to their teachers also!
